Chicago Corruption lends suspicion to Obama : Blogosphere Asks, Was he heremetically sealed from all?
There is much to be said on the topic of corruption, philosophically. I do not hold fully to Plato's idea, that we take corruption into ourselves, when we gaze on it, but I am sympathetic to its premises. There is an infectious quality to political corruption. I believe both Nietzsche and Kierkegaard would say it is the society, the institution which is corrupt, and not the individual. Nietzsche states plainly his belief that lying is par for the course in collective groups, and it is a form of insanity which is very rare in the individual.
