National Organization for Marriage Targets NJ - Coming to Trenton

From Courage Campaign:

That's right. Tuesday, July 20, the fear-mongering National Organization for Marriage is coming to Trenton, New Jersey. And the Courage Campaign will be there to hold NOM -- the same organization behind the infamous "Gathering Storm" TV attack ad on same-sex marriage -- accountable for what they say and do in Trenton.

Because of donations made by Courage Campaign supporters just like you in response to the message below, we will be there to track the first leg of NOM's "Summer for Marriage: One Man, One Woman" tour across America. But to keep our staffers on the road, we still need your financial support to pay for the rest of our tour coverage, from travel expenses to video production and editing.

With the support of a major donor, we launched the "NOM Tour Tracker," sending staffers on the road for a month to expose NOM's right-wing agenda to America and spread the word about marriage equality along the way. Now we need your help to keep it going. If you help us match this major donor's $17,500 contribution, every dollar you contribute will be doubled. Will you donate $5 -- or even $25, $50, $100 or more -- today? DEADLINE: Extended to Thursday at 11:59 p.m.

Culture Wars heat up again July 2010

While the National Organization for Marriage (headed by Maggie Gallagher, and based in Washington, DC) plans its "Summer for Marriage: One Man, One Woman" campaign, Freedom to Marry, the gay -marriage friendly organization, is planning a campaign of its own, to counter-balance.

From Courage Campaign:

Maggie Gallagher, the Chair of NOM, was beside herself last Thursday after a federal court judge ruled that the "Defense of Marriage Act" (DOMA) was unconstitutional:
"Does this federal judge want to start another culture war? Does he really want another Roe. v. Wade?... Only an incompetent defense could have lost this case. We expect to win in a higher court."
